Just five steps to create your own personal Metro or Tree map.
Read the steps, click through the Wizard and enjoy the journey!

 

Step 1 - Choose your map - Metro or Tree

The Metro map allows you to construct your own map with a choice of train lines [6, 7, 8, 9 or 10] and a variable number of stops per line [8, 9 or 10]. The Tree map has a set number of 7 lines with 10 stops per line.

Step 2 - Name your map

Give your map a name. We find that the person's name plus map tends to work well (e.g. Matt Smith's Map).


How many lines/categories would you like on your map? You can choose from 6 to 10 (lines are topics or subjects such as music, jobs, films, friends, books etc) - the choice is yours. Later in the process you will be able to add stops to your lines for each of the categories.

Step 3 - Name your lines and your stops

Now we know what the map is going to look like it's time to add some information. Simply click on the map to label the lines (e.g. themes/categories) and the stops.

Step 4 - Choose where the lines interchange

The final step - choose where your lines interchange (e.g. where two stops on separate lines have something in common, i.e. Barcelona 2011/Jake's Stag Party).

Step 5 - Send to print

Your map will now be ready for you to proof, complete and ready to send to print. At this stage you can select the size you want and go to checkout!

You can order your own School Leavers design using our Bespoke Service.

 

School maps capture your child’s primary or secondary school journey - a personalised print within the design of an underground train map.

 

Simply download the forms here.

 

One is an order form, a form to make your lists and a data consent form.

 

Previous designs have consisted of categories including school trips, staff, school life, traditions, trends and world events.

 

Each A3 size map is printed on 260gsm photo paper.


Minimum order of 15 prints: £30 each plus £5 for personalisation (i.e. for your child’s name to appear in the legend)


Minimum order of 20 prints: £25 each plus £5 for personalisation (i.e. for your child’s name to appear in the legend)


Minimum order of 25 prints: £20 each plus £5 for personalisation (i.e. for your child’s name to appear in the legend)


Each price point includes:

• Two proof amends

• £50 donation to the PTA

• Postage and packing


Please note these prints are unframed.

 

Orders would ideally need to be received by the end of the spring term to ensure there is enough time for design, proof reading and delivery.

Frequently asked questions

 

 

What material/paper are the Wizard and Bespoke maps printed onto?

The maps are printed on high quality heavyweight paper.

What sizes are available?

The Tree and the Metro designs from the Map Wizard are available in sizes A1 (84.1cm x 59.4cm) and A2 (59.4cm x 42cm). These frame sizes are widely available. With the Bespoke Service we can offer other dimensions to suit your requirements.

Do you offer a framing service?

Not at present. But if we find this is something our customers want then we will in due course. However we are happy offer advice on framing. Please let us know your thoughts at info@thisismymap.com

How do you deliver and is the cost included in the price?

The prices produced by the Map Wizard are inclusive of delivery. Once printed, the prints are carefully rolled and placed within a hardened cardboard tube. For customers using our Bespoke Service all prices will be quoted and agreed upon prior to the order being placed.

What is the estimated delivery time?

Maps produced by the Map Wizard will take up to 10 working days to be delivered. Delivery times for customers using our Bespoke Service will be agreed as part of the design brief.

How and when do I pay if I want to place an order using your Bespoke Service?

This will be agreed as part of the design brief. We will require a non-refundable deposit before the design process begins with a settlement payment once the map has been signed off by you. We accept all credit/debit cards via Paypal. You do not need a Paypal account.

Do I get to approve my map before I receive it?

Yes, customers using the Map Wizard will be able to final proof their map prior to placing their order. Bespoke customers will also final proof their map before completing their order.

Will the colours I choose on screen be the same as on the poster?

There is no guarantee that the colours will be exactly the same, computer screens vary in their colour reproduction. But we can assure you our printers use the latest technologies and are able to provide graphics of the highest quality.

Can I place an order and arrange for it to be sent to another address?

Absolutely, you can specify the delivery address when ordering.
